Volunteers age 14 and older to help at the Sports &
Fitness Expo at the Portland Hilton Hotel located at 921
SW Sixth Avenue Portland
Volunteer duties may include: setting up the Sports and Fitness Expo, moving boxes around the Expo and other miscellaneous duties associated with logistics of the Expo. Much of this work consists of physical labor including lifting and carrying bulky and unwieldy items.
Able to assist with loading & unloading boxes of Marathon items.
Able to stand for extended period of time.
Able to bend over to pick up items off the floor repeatedly.
Able to be flexible and switch assignment with minimum notice
Able to lift 20 pound boxes repeatedly.
Volunteers will be provided with a Volunteer T-Shirt when they arrive for their shift. Wear substantial, comfortable footwear. NO Sandals or open toed shoes. Bring a snack or sack lunch and beverages for your shift.
NOTE: Do not bring valuables or purses or large backpacks with valuables. You will NOT be able to secure these items in the work area.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the work for this assignment, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate those with physical limitations.
Volunteers need to report to the lower ballroom area of the Hilton Hotel for their assignment.
Because of congestion in the downtown core area, we ask that volunteers consider using public transportation. Such as TriMet, MAX or other public transit. Coming from Hillsboro leave MAX at 4th and Yamhill. Coming from Gresham/Lloyd Center get off MAX at SW 4th and Morrison.
