NO DAY OF RACE PACKET PICKUP OR ENTRY FOR ALL EVENTS
Clothing check-in begins. Look for the signs and green balloons near SW 1st and Salmon.
Runners (3:45/8:30 pace and faster) enter the assembly area from SW Taylor on SW 2nd and proceed over to SW Salmon; slower runners 3:45/8:30 pace and slower enter from SW Taylor on SW 1st. Lineup of walkers starts on SW Salmon at SW 1st Avenue. Walkers enter from SW Taylor from either SW 1st or SW Naito Parkway. Nordic Walkers line up behind the walkers. All participants are chip-timed.
Wheelchair race begins
Marathon Run/Walk and 1/2 Marathon Run/Walk begins as a multiple wave start. Look for pace signs in corrals. Be sure to line up by your anticipated finish time.
All 1/2 Marathon walkers and all full Marathon walkers each have bibs that are a different color. These bib colors are also entirely different colors from those who are registered as runners for the two events.
Walkers from both events will be mixed together and will start in waves after the runners are released. Walkers are not permitted in the corrals for the runners.
Walkers are chipped timed so there is no hurry to get to the actual starting line. Walkers can anticipate a possible 10 minute wait until all runners are cleared. We expect there will be two or three waves of walkers.
The street and exact location for line up in the walker corrals will be announced on the website in mid September and will also be set forth in the final instructions to be picked up at the Expo when walkers do final check in and receive their bibs etc.
Shuttle buses for Mayor's Walk begin running.
The Mayor's Walk participants begin at 8:00 a.m. at the 20-mile mark of the Marathon at Columbia Annex Park on North Willamette Boulevard. Walkers continue to leave until 10:00 a.m.
